The 2009 edition of Speed Weeks at Daytona International Speedway were not the best for motorsports clients of The Bray Law Firm. Despite strong cars and some terrific qualifying efforts, the final results were not what was expected as teams and drivers headed to Florida for the annual kick-off to the stock car racing campaign.
The bright spot in the Daytona 500 was Scott Riggs, who qualified through a strong effort in his Twin 150 to get Tommy Baldwin Racing into the race after less than a month of preparation. Scott finished 25th, and looked poised to finish even higher before the race was shortened by rain. Travis Kvapil and Joey Logano finished 42nd and 43rd respectively, although Travis posted a top 10 qualifying effort, and Joey finished 6th in his Twin 150.
Brian Vickers looked poised to pilot the #32 Braun Racing-Dollar General entry into victory lane in the Camping World 300 Nationwide Series race, but was bumped by Kyle Busch with two laps to go and finished 6th. David Reutimann finished 12th and Jason Leffler finished 33rd in Braun Racing's other entries, while Joey Logano posted a 20th place finished in is Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.
Timothy Peters finished 6th in the Nextra Energy Resources 250 truck race. Trail Motorsports, with driver Chase Austin, finished 13th while Larry Foyt finished 20th.
After posting front row qualifying effort, Alli Owens was caught up in a wreck and finished 40th in the Daytona 200 ARCA Series race. Joey Logano finished 2nd, while Doug Stringer's Toyota entry, with Gabi DiCarlo behind the wheel, finished 31st.
