Law in the Fast Lane a Success

The Sports & Entertainment Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association hosted “Law in the Fast Lane” at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina on October 12-13, 2006. This two-day continuing legal education conference featured speakers from the world of motorsports, including representatives from NASCAR, Speed Channel, Roush Racing, Jeff Gordon, Inc. and Team Red Bull.
“Law in the Fast Lane” focused on legal issues faced by attorneys representing clients in motorsports. Topics included the representation of teams and drivers, licensing and NASCAR’s regulation of its unique brand of racing. Attendees included representatives of Nextel and Bank of America, as well as many of the sport’s top race teams and law firms.
The program was planned by William Bray, principal of The Bray Law Firm in Charlotte, North Carolina and Chairman of the Sports & Entertainment Law Section for 2006-2007. Mr. Bray served as the moderator for the event, which served as a unique networking platform for speakers and attendees.
