David Krusch and Michael Tarwater Join Firm as Summer Clerks

Charlotte, NC (May 20, 2009) The Bray Law Firm is pleased to announce David Krusch and Michael Tarwater have joined the firm through its 2009 Summer Clerkship Program. Despite being a small firm in a difficult economic environment which has seen many larger firms discontinue their summer programs altogether, The Bray Law Firm has committed to its future growth and development through the retention of these students for the summer months.

“Since the firm was founded in 2003, we have never hired summer clerks, so to some it may seem like a strange time to add costs and personnel” said William Bray, the firm’s founding partner. “However, it is our belief that now is the time to cultivate the best talent available so as to better serve our clients and be prepared for what we anticipate will be a demand for legal services in 2010 and beyond.”

David Krusch is a rising second-year student at the University of North Carolina School of Law. He also received his undergraduate degree from UNC, and is a native of Charlotte. Michael Tarwater is graduating in June from the Sports MBA Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, after which he plans on entering law school in the fall. Michael is also a native of Charlotte, and received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University.

Many firms in the Charlotte region and elsewhere have dramatically scaled back or otherwise eliminated their summer programs for 2009. According to the American Bar Association, the number of summer clerks or associates hired by law firms nationwide for 2009 has in some cases been reduced by 30% to 50%.
