The Bray Law Firm was founded on April 1, 2003. Our express purpose was to provide sophisticated legal services to small and mid-size corporate clients throughout the Carolinas who sought an alternative to the “big firm experience,” but who likewise demanded that there be no drop-off in the quality of the legal services provided by their firm.
In the years since our founding, we have quickly grown into a multi-attorney law firm capable of representing clients in all types of sophisticated corporate transactions and complex business litigation. We employ the best available attorneys and support personnel in order to provide the level of service demanded by its clients, and strive to continually offer consistent and timely counsel and representation to each and every client, whether large or small.
Approximately one-half of The Bray Law Firm’s practice consists of the representation of small to mid-size companies in the context of general corporate transactions and business litigation. We work with clients i n dozens of industries such as construction, marketing, media and retail commerce. From a litigation perspective, our attorneys handle millions of dollars of disputes on an annual basis, ranging in diversity from business break-ups to noncompete disputes and trade secret infringement.
In short, the range of corporate legal services offered by The Bray Law Firm is broad enough such that our clients rarely, if ever, require a referral to associate counsel. In circumstances (such as where patents are involved) where an outside area of expertise is required on behalf of a client, we maintain a network of trusted professionals to whom the client’s specific matter can be referred. In this instance, our attorneys typically maintain oversight of the particular issue on behalf of the client.
The remainder of our practice is unique among other firms in the region, however, in that we emphasize work in the fields of motorsports and entertainment. Being located in Charlotte, North Carolina, The Bray Law Firm is perfectly situated to assist clients competing in NASCAR. We currently represent or have represented teams, drivers, sponsors, agencies and marketing groups. Our clients have won events in all levels of racing, including Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping World Truck, Indy Car, ARCA and Hooters Pro Cup. The work we provide includes their general representation (contracts, corporate affairs, licensing) and litigation. Our attorneys are active within the NASCAR community, and understand the highly personal and competitive nature of competing at the highest levels of motorsports.
The entertainment practice of The Bray Law Firm includes work in a wide variety of entertainment-related industries, including music, film production, publishing and media. Clients include record labels, film and record producers, musicians, artists and many of the assorted, peripheral entities that complement the industry as a whole. Just as with the firm’s motorsports practice, our attorneys are able to share with our clients an intimate understanding of many of the unique aspects of this industry. This knowledge is perhaps our most invaluable resource to clients looking for expertise in an area largely under-serviced by the legal community in the Carolinas.
In order to best serve its clients, The Bray Law Firm employs a strategy of aggressive growth while never undertaking more than its current capabilities allow. Since mid-2004, we have grown from a single attorney and one paralegal to our current size. This growth demonstrates the firm’s recognition among its current and prospective clients as one capable of handling ongoing corporate affairs and complex litigation. Another aspect of our client develop speaks well to our commitment to quality; primarily, the fact that many of our best referral sources are larger firms who have client conflicts or whose clients prefer that a smaller firm with more billing flexibility handle a particular matter.
